SE English IV
Welcome to SE English IV! This class follows the course outline given in the NC Common Core Curriculum. Students will build on reading, writing and editing, and speaking skills learned in English III. Students will create expository/informative, argumentative, and narrative writing with an emphasis on the use of formal style, and literary techniques in their own writing. Students will study of many types of literature, literary devices, and vocabulary through which students will learn to cite textual evidence and analyze texts. Students will complete a semester long project focused on who they are, their dreams and goals, and how they are going to live life to make a positive impact in society. Oral presentation skills using multi-media formats are further developed in this class. Instruction will be based on student’s individual learning styles, and student’s IEP. Students will be expected to do homework, as assigned.
