Informal Letter Assignment Step 1: Think of a friend or family member you would like to write.
Step 2: Write a letter to your friend using the informal letter format you learned in class.
Step 3: Have Mrs. Starling check your letter. Edit your letter for capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Fix any errors you have made.
Step 4: Write the final copy of your letter.
Envelopes Step 1: Write your name and address in the top left corner of the envelope using the format taught to you.
Step 2: Write the name and address of the recipient of your letter in lower center of the envelope using the format taught to you.
Step 3: Have Mrs. Starling check your envelope.
Step 4: Place your informal letter in your envelope. Seal it. Give it to Mrs. Starling to mail for you.
Formal Letter Assignment: Step 1: Go online. Search for a job you think you would like to have. Make sure that the job you find has an address for the business.
Step 2: Type a formal letter to the business you found inquiring about the job opening that they have. Be sure to use the formal letter format you have on your handout.
Step 3: Have Mrs. Starling come and check your letter. Edit your letter for capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Make any corrections you need to on the rough draft of your letter.
Step 4: Share your formal letter with Mrs. Starling through Google Docs.
