All Journal Entries for this unit will need to be completed on your iPad Word Document.
Journal 1: Have you or someone you know ever known the truth, but ignored
it? Why do people ignore the truth? Write a journal entry in which you describe
a time when you or someone you know knew the truth about a person or situation
but chose to ignore that truth. You need to have at least 8 sentences and make
sure it is in paragraph format. We will edit your journal entries tomorrow.
Journal 2: In class we went over themes for the narratives you will write in this unit. This journal is to help you thinking about what kind of narrative you would like to write. Remember, a narrative has a point to make or an idea to pass on. In this journal brainstorm for story ideas. You may complete this entry by writing out a list, completing a bubble map, or free writing. Journal 3: Choose one of the ideas from your brainstorming session from Journal 2. Journal 4: Today continue telling me about your story. Use this journal entry to tell me the following about your story or mini-play: ~Rising action:~Climax: ~Falling action: ~Resolution:
Journal 5: Today you will write the first part of your rough draft for your narrative. Use Journal 3 and 4 to write the following: Introduction (introduce the setting, protagonist, antagonist), and the Rising Action (introduce the conflict). You should have at least two paragraphs. Tomorrow we will edit this journal entry for grammar and mechanics.
Journal 6: Today you will write the second part of your rough draft for your narrative. Use Journal entry 4 to write the following: Climax (highest point in the story), and the Falling Action (begin wrapping up the story). You should have at least two paragraphs. Tomorrow we will edit this journal entry for grammar and mechanics.
Journal 7: Today you will write the 3rd and final part of your rough draft for your narrative. Use Journal entry 4 to write the following: the rest of your Falling Action and your Resolution. Tomorrow we will edit this journal entry for grammar and mechanics.
